La ciudad celtibérica de Contrebia Leucade
Data de finales del siglo III a. C. y fue utilizada a lo largo de casi dos mil años por distintas culturas por lo que es un yacimiento con un gran contenido histórico.
El Yacimiento Arqueológico de Contrebia Leucade se encuentra a 2,5 Km. del municipio de Aguilar del Río Alhama y a 1 Km. de Inestrillas. La ciudad estaba situada en un territorio con unas defensas naturales muy fuertes, lo que ha facilitado la excepcional conservación de su sistema defensivo y sus elementos internos. Es uno de los yacimientos más espectaculares de la Península y el más significativo a la hora de conocer el grado de desarrollo técnico y la capacidad de organización de los celtíberos.
The Celtiberian city of Contrebia Leucade
It dates from the end of the 3rd century BC. C. and it was used for almost two thousand years by different cultures, making it a site with great historical content.
The Archaeological Site of Contrebia Leucade is located 2.5 km from the municipality of Aguilar del Río Alhama and 1 km from Inestrillas. The city was located in a territory with very strong natural defenses, which has helped the exceptional preservation of its defensive system and its internal elements. It is one of the most spectacular sites on the Peninsula and the most significant when it comes to knowing the degree of technical development and the organizational capacity of the Celtiberians.
