Pisado tradicional de la uva

La pisa de uva es sinónimo de tradición y fiesta. Es un ritual lleno de simbología que celebra la culminación de la cosecha, del trabajo de todo un año y de transformación de la uva en vino. La mecanización no impide que el pisado de uva se siga celebrando en toda España como parte fundamental en fiestas populares ligadas a la vendimia.

Consiste en pisar las uvas depositadas en un lagar o recipiente de madera para extraer el zumo o mosto. De esta manera, el mosto sale por un orificio pequeño y, al mismo tiempo, se separan los raspones y la pulpa del fruto.

Traditional grape treading

The treading of the grapes is synonymous with tradition and festivity. It is a ritual full of symbolism that celebrates the culmination of the harvest, the work of a whole year and the transformation of grapes into wine. Mechanisation has not prevented grape treading from continuing to be celebrated throughout Spain as a fundamental part of popular festivities linked to the grape harvest.

It consists of treading the grapes deposited in a press or wooden container to extract the juice or must. In this way, the must comes out through a small hole and, at the same time, the stalks and pulp of the fruit are separated.
