La Sarga es una tela pintada en forma de tapiz que fue realizada en Amberes (Belgica) por el maestro Martín de Vos, hacia el año 1560.
La tela es lino y la pintura se aplicó directamente mediante la técnica de mezclar el pigmento con una gelatina de huesos diluida en agua. Tiene unas medidas de 10,84 metros de alto por 8,28 metros de ancho. El conjunto representa un panorama de la Pasión de Cristo distribuida en 17 escenas, desde la Última Cena hasta la Crucifixión.
Está considerada por los expertos como la mejor sarga de las quedan en España, tanto por ser la más grande de todas, como por la calidad y colorido de su pintura, siendo uno de los mejores exponentes de la pintura religiosa flamenca del siglo XVI. Foto:Raquel Manzanares

The Sarga is a tapestry-like painted canvas made in Antwerp (Belgium) by the master Martin de Vos around 1560.
The canvas is linen and the paint was applied directly using the technique of mixing the pigment with bone jelly diluted in water. It measures 10.84 m high by 8.28 m wide. The ensemble represents a panorama of the Passion of Christ divided into 17 scenes, from the Last Supper to the Crucifixion.
It is considered by experts to be the best serge of those remaining in Spain, both for being the largest of them all, and for the quality and colour of its painting, being one of the best examples of Flemish religious painting of the 16th century. Photo:Raquel Manzanares
